Welcome to SWE Affinity Groups (AGs)! Our goal within the affinity groups is to offer individuals a safe space to have conversations about their experiences and to also celebrate their identity. We currently have three affinity groups: the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), the LGBTQ+, and the Disabilities Affinity Group. Affinity group meetings can range from harder conversations such as about the intersectionalities of identities to socials/mixers with other affinity groups on campus. While affinity group leaders may have a plan for the first few meetings, the trajectory of the affinity group’s meetings is up to each group’s preferences. You are welcome to attend as many or a few events as you would like and can join at any time!
