What is SWE Science?
SWE Science is a monthly, hands-on engineering experience held from 10AM to 12 PM Saturday mornings. During these sessions, students will engage in collaborative engineering challenges, designed to allow students to not only practice foundational STEM principles but also to develop their intellectual curiosities and creativity in an interactive--but most importantly, fun setting! Previous activities have included cardboard vehicles, flotation devices, and plastic parachutes. Additionally, our team of Berkeley engineering students will help these future engineers learn about a variety STEM careers, including those lesser-known ones in order to cater to every students particular interests.
Who can participate?
SWE Science is divided into two sections: SWE Science Saturdays for 4th-5th grade and SWE Science Scholars for 6th-8th grade students. We welcome students of all genders and backgrounds to attend.
When is the next SWE Science?
SWE Science will take place on Saturday morning on 2/1, 3/7, 4/4, and 5/2 from 10AM – 12PM.
Where is SWE Science held?
At Soda Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. (Specific room numbers will be announced in registration confirmation emails.)
